Tanabi is the fan-made son of Simba and Nala from the universe of The Lion King.

He seems to have been created either before Kopa, or before he was widely known, and certainly before Simba's Pride.

Origin

The Mystery of the Unnamed Cub

At the end of the first film, Rafiki shows off Simba and Nala's cub. Very little about the cub is revealed to the audience in said scene, only their appearance. Their gender and name were unknown.

The animators of the film nicknamed the cub Fluffy, though this appears to have been a humorous and convenient name to refer to them.

Enter Tanabi

The name "Tanabi" is originally attributed to Melissa Martin and is a character in numerous works of fan fiction, including The Tales of Tanabi by Joshua C. Templin, one of the earliest works of Lion King fan fiction, and Chronicles of the Pride Lands by John Burkitt, David Morris, and others.[1]
