I (Celeste Hotaling-Lyons) was co-editor on this zine (I notice that the boxed info on an entry is resistant to changes being made?)--Gozer 07:18, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

You can't change the predefined fields in a template, only their value, if that makes sense? That is you can't add a new field "co-editor" because it is not defined in the template that does the formatting of the boxes, you can only add the name as second editor on that line. You can put co-editor in brackets, or before or things like that, but you can't define new fields on the fly.--RatCreature 08:44, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

So... best bet is to put the info in the Discussion page for the entry's box, I'm guessing. Sorry, I should have done better research on the How Tos, more than a cursory glance. (hangs head in shame) But to be fair, it did say "be bold and dive in!"--Gozer 09:00, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I never read all the how-tos either, just looked at them if something didn't work like expected (it's not like anything awful will happen with trial-and-error approach when learning in a wiki, and you can always use the preview button to see whether something works or not, and failing that there's always the option to revert if something went horribly wrong). And I tried that with the templates once too, because they look as if you could add stuff in the same pattern.
I'm not sure what you mean with the "discussion page for the entry's box". You can discuss the fields of the template on the discussion pages for the templates if you have suggestions to change the template.--RatCreature 09:30, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I meant that if I had a change for the box that I personally could not affect (because one can't define new fields in any given box on the fly), I'd write the change on the discussion page for the zine. But that's wrong, so I retract that statement! Aaaand my next move will be to write a little bio for myself, so I'll grab the right template. It's like I'm slowly making myself real in fandom again.--Gozer 14:51, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm curious as to why did these gen and het Due South zines (and the other ones I did yesterday) got changed back to just Due South Zines by category? --Mrs. Potato Head 16:35, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Due South is one of the newer zine fandoms. When something there is labeled gen, it can be expected to be gen and not het. The gen and het zines on their own don't have 15 pages and if they are going to be lumped together in one category anyway because there are not enough of each of them to give them their own categories, they can just as well stay in the main fandom zine category, because what would be the point of having another subcategory that does exactly the same thing the main fandom zine category is supposed to do. At least that was my reasoning. :) --Doro 16:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I guess so. There was no way of knowing how many there'd be until I went through every single one of them. --Mrs. Potato Head 17:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Exactly. You said that you did it to sort them so that we would know what's there and that then someone else could work with that and that's what I did. --Doro 18:30, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
That's true. It's been interesting to see how they all sort out. :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 19:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
