Talk:The J2 Haiti Fic

Just a few notes here:

  • I intentionally did not title the page the title of the story, because this is a page about a Fandom Event, not a story.
  • I got as far as I could on this, and all those empty sections, and likely some other ones need filling in. I think there needs to be some coverage of the people who think the fic was just okay or that the author did the best they could, but frankly most of that's on LJ and I don't know where to look.
  • I don't know if there's any caps of the deleted stuff out there, but it should be added if there is.
  • I did the quotes the way I did to avoid the wall of italics problem or the page turning into a series of text boxes.
  • You all know I can't spell right and that I make apostrophe errors all the time? Please proof this and correct anything for SPAG. I'm not even sure if I kept consistent between Commonwealth/US spelling.
  • I didn't actually get to the section where I have to quote myself and that kind of weirds me out anyway.

Question--there is a comment thread out there where a fan asked the mods of the big bang via PM to make a rule change regarding this sort of fic and they replied via PM. Is that okay to link/quote? The fan is reposting a PM in someone else's journal.

And, please, everyone, anyone add to this as you see fit. I'll hack away at it some more another day.--facetofcathy 22:07, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

As requested, I tracked down opposing POVs and added them. Filled in some of facetofcathy's empty sections. Included the art (now offline) since it was hard to understand what people were discussing without being able to see it. There will be many typos and awkwardly worded sections that will need clean-up. All help appreciated. Re quoting the PM: if the poster is paraphrasing the conversation she had with the mods, as opposed to actually quoting them and/or reporting someone else's conversation, then that's a public discussion of first hand facts. Unless the mods had asked her to not to discuss their response, it might fit. But when in doubt, ask the Wiki Committee. And I'll end by echoing what you said: feel free add to the article. Please. PPOVs rulz!--MeeDee 04:48, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
