I'm concerned about the two personal emails cited in this article -- has permission to quote these been obtained from the sender? As I understand it, that's required per Fanlore:Citation.--Penknife 17:54, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops. Is it the direct quotation that's a problem? I'm kind of stymied about how to document something that took place largely over e-mail and message boards that are long since gone. --Nestra 17:56, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not actually sure whether the policy is intended to prevent summarizing private email without directly quoting. The direct quotation needed to come out, but beyond that, I don't know where the line is. (Which would probably be a good thing to clarify in the citation policy one way or the other at some point.)--Penknife 18:06, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- I went ahead and changed the citation of the paraphrase. It's one of those things that's fairly common knowledge, at least in a specific segment of the fandom, but like I said, any public citation is long since gone. Thanks for catching my mistake. --Nestra 18:09, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
