Talk:Songfic

Is there any sort of citation that backs up the badfic claim? Since badfic is even listed under see also I'm rather uncomfortable with it. I don't have the highest opinion of songfics myself, but I don't really think songfic = badfic is as established as it seems in this article. I could be wrong though, so I'd appreciate your opinions. I also think this article needs to explain the legal situation and risks of songfic in particular, since most archives have very strict rules. Anecdotally I remember that songfic had very much badfic associations in The Sentinel fandom in the late 1990s. It required a warning too, so that you could skip it. In my corner of LJ fandom songfic is mostly absent, except that people sometimes do random lyrics quotes, but not songfic as such. But the badfic association is there for me. I don't recall much worry about legal problems before the reasoning for the ff.net ban.--RatCreature 18:46, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
