"Thus yclept"?

Someone added a footnote to the page querying the use of the word "yclept" in the Deep Media blog post that is quoted from in the "Harry Potter Websites and Sony" section. I've looked it up, and believe it or not, it is a word - an archaic one, meaning "by the name of". I think the author is using it in this context to mean "thus named".
