Can someone give me the short answer on what a "circuit zine" is? Was it a paper zine? A casual pass-around that has no "official" publisher? How should these zines be noted on the wiki? In "Other"? In "Medium"? In the meat of the description? Mrs. Potato Head 16:27, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- AFAIK in some early fandoms, Pros in particular, there existed "circuits" who passed around typed fanfic (so this was on paper), i.e. fanfic was mailed around this circuit via snail mail to literally circulate a copy, rather than one publisher making many copies. But this was way before my fandom involvement, so others can probably answer better. As for the medium, I'd just put circuit zine in the medium field, so that it is distinguished from published print zines, and hopefully someone with more knowledge will make an article about the practice eventually.--Ratcreature 16:39, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ahhh, I get it. There are a bunch in Starsky and Hutch which I called "pass-around" zines. Can the term "circuit zine" there as well, in other words, for other fandoms? (Though the fandom would have to be old enough to have them: Did Star Trek have any? Beauty and the Beast? Blake's &"?) Mrs. Potato Head 16:54, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have no clue. I think it may be best to label them with what the fandom called them (i.e. "pass-around" in SH, "circuit" in Pros), and then redirect one to the other for the glossary entry so that that is combined into one article for the method.--Ratcreature 17:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- The article about The Professionals Circuit explains what circuit zines are.--Doro 19:37, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
