How is it the first filkzine if it is from 1978, but there are older filk zines, like The Colors of Love from 1977?--RatCreature 22:22, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

I'd say it's not the first then. Mrs. Potato Head 22:32, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I wondered whether maybe this was using a different or narrower definition for filkzine than "book with fannish songs" or something along those lines, like a filkzine could also mean a newsletter type of thing or something organizational for filkers.--RatCreature 22:40, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
"Zine description: Little Rock, AR. 1978 through Summer 1980.. Whole numbers one through seven (4/5 a double number), of fourteen published. Six issues. Quarto. Mimeographed typescript, stapled in pictorial wrappers.... Edited and published by Margaret Middleton (the first three issues in collaboration with Clif Flynt). The first filk-zine, and the center of the growing filk phenomenon, coinciding with the founding of the Filk Foundation, and the first filk convention in 1979. For her contribution to the filk movement, Middleton was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in 1997.... Accompanied by: Middleton, Margaret [ed]: ON AND ON INTO THE NIGHT. Little Rock: Margaret Middleton, 1978. Quarto. Mimeographed typescript, stapled into mimeographed self- wrappers. Very good to near fine. An early collection of filksong, including a contribution by Joe Haldeman. [1] That's what I have. Mrs. Potato Head 23:01, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it sounds like this may refer to establishing filk as a subfandom rather than being the first songbook. That should probably be somehow made clearer in the text to not confuse people like me who are completely clueless about filk.--RatCreature 23:37, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm completely clueless as well and hope folks come along to set it straight! :-) Mrs. Potato Head 23:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
