fandom sections

Hi friends - if anyone is monitoring that page I'm trying to figure out in what format this page can realistically be expanded given that most of the primary sources are on deleted livejournals, or even sometimes myspace. I'll be poking through my bookmarks and the wayback machine but I'm thinking breaking it down into different shipping cultures (i.e. slash vs heteronormative tween fantasy) as well as a short discussion on twitter fandom in the modern era as jonas fans are rarely writing fic anymore and that shift is notable? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly welcome. --sasiml 21:16, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Additionally, if anybody has example of things like wank or other general fandom staples the Fandom section is in need of that. --sasiml 01:08, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Name of Page and category

I believe this page should be moved to the bands category (if any) and from there have sections on Fandom RPF. Ellakbhesse (talk) 06:47, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Yes, there is a category :D It's called Category:Bandom and I think you are right. The page already uses the Template:FandombyText-RPF, but the template Category:Celebrities & Real People needs to be added manually. --SecurityBreach (talk) 07:01, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
On second thoughts, I think Category:Music RPF would be more accurate than 'Celebrities & Real People'. --SecurityBreach (talk) 07:12, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

I agree Category:Music RPF would be fitting considering the relationship to Category:Bandom is limited and I feel as though many people more steeped in it might feel as though they're entirely separate which is a fair case imo. I don't know how to add categories so I will defer to y'alls expertise! --sasiml (talk) 07:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Follow up: I checked if Disney RPF was a category and I believe it is? I believe the category should still be applicable despite it no longer being under Disney, purely because a majority of the content was created and tagged still as Disney RPF. Might totally be wrong though! --sasiml (talk) 07:26, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi again :D In the meantime, I took a look at Category:Jonas Brothers and found out that both, Category:Disney RPF and Category:Music RPF, are already parent categories to Jonas Brothers. This means, it is not neccessary to include those categories on the page because the band is already listed there.
This is what Help:Categorising Guidelines has to say on the topic: In general, do not add parent categories of the category you want to add. For example, add the "Audio" category to the Spork! An Erotic Love Story page, but do not add "Fan Activities". --SecurityBreach (talk) 09:05, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
(And 'Category:Celebrities & Real People' is parent to both 'Disney RPF' and 'Music RPF'.) --SecurityBreach (talk) 09:11, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
