"Locked post to B7 fic" Sigh. Well I did get 3/4 of the stuff I intended to download. Last download 16/6/2013. [Guiser]
- I don't know how complete it is, but the Internet Archive made a scan in 2010: archived copy [Greer Watson]
- Thanks for that. However, though I can click through to lists of stories, when I try to click through to an individual story it doesn't seem to work. I'll check more thoroughly later, but I suspect it is something to do with the way the archive itself was set up. That said, I can see lists of at least some of the titles that were on the archive, so I will google them and maybe check some old comms. People may have changed their pseudonyms, so perhaps I can pick up some of the titles elsewhere. Alas, the archive stories were relatively easy to convert for an ereader and I really struggle with livejournal pages (I've got a Nook). Ironically, the person who inspired my downloading spree (due to their videos disappearing from youtube and the discovery that their livejournal had long since been purged) is one of the people whose stories I never finished downloading. Doh! [Guiser]
- I've poked about Wayback a bit, and none of the fiction pages seems to be archived, sadly. I can't even get at the second page of the author listing. I think some people (eg Willa Shakespeare, Executrix) have archived all their works at AO3, and a lot of the remainder will be members of b7fic or b7friday. - I've just noticed your list of authors on Hip Deep. Since I actually downloaded all the gen and het (trying to expand my reading horizons to include stuff like gen with Tarrant and Dayna in it, gulp!), I can supply a few more author's names. I'll stick them in. With regards to "missing" internet-only fics, do you think it would be acceptable to rec favourite "missing" fics in the hope that someone might provide a link or even, in the case of an author, upload the fic? I'm new here and I'm not sure what is or isn't the done thing. I'd only do this as a last resort though, since I quite enjoy trawling the internet for obscure stuff! - Thanks for adding more authors -- wish I'd done it properly while it was still online! There's no problem with highlighting offline stories on Fanlore -- centuries of fandom is offline, after all -- but if you just want to find stories, posting in b7fic might be your best option. Nico is still active there and she was one of the HDiH mods. Espresso Addict (talk) 20:28, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
