Talk:Hatstand (glossary term)

I've been looking through some old The Hatstand Expresses -- the term "hatstand" was coined by AN Other, not Tarot (ref THE #6). AN Other gave THE permission to use the term after the zine publishers had suffered some criticism from a small group of British fans.Kiwisue1 14:28, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Anyone know why frog brooches were chosen? -- Tai 20:01, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

There's a bit about frog brooches on the Fanlore Pro's page: "I remembered something else as I was sorting out enamelled frogs for the Halloween awards - in the beginning, once one had finished a 'Hatstand' and submitted it to the Head Hatstander of the Other Group and it was copied and put onto the Circuit, then one was awarded a prize - highly sought-after and very very pretty indeed - a little enamel frog which HH-er used to get from her local market. They came in different colours, I believe mine was blue. How I treasured it when it arrived in the post! I believe a frog, specifically, because of some affectionate and reverent reference to Doyle as 'frog-like' in a story?" --Mrs. Potato Head 20:05, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
