Talk:GateFail 2009

Well, I think it fits under Fandom Occurrences, but I wonder whether the Discussion category shouldn't remain also, because it is a discussion after all. But then the "Discussion" category is a mystery to me anyway. I have no idea how it differs from "Debate" (I think I asked that on some Category or sitemap talk page once, but never got an answer). Are we supposed to label specific discussion "debate" then, and use "discussion" to label discussion communities?--Ratcreature 19:47, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Maybe. That's what I've been doing anyway. I never heard back about what the discussion category was supposed to cover, but the Category:Discussion page says it's for pages about Discussion Forums and the art of Fannish Discussion. So I figured it excluded pages about specific discussions, since those are already covered under Category:Debate. If my interpretation is in line with the original intent, I think the discussion category should be renamed to avoid confusion. Along these lines, I think pages like Race and Fandom can go in both debate and discussion categories because they are about a type of discussion, not just specific debates.--Æthel 19:59, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
