Talk:Duncan/Methos
It says "Although the show gave us many pretty men to pair with Duncan, virtually all of them were only in one episode" -- but what about Richie? Admittedly I only watched HL sporadically, but he was a main character from the first season, wasn't he? And teacher/student is a major draw for many slash fans (like TPM or HP fandoms). So wouldn't there have been a Duncan/Richie slash fandom right from the start? Admittedly I'm clueless about HL fandom, but that would be my expectation, and if there wasn't, it would be interesting to know why not.--Ratcreature 18:32, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- There was a very teeny tiny Duncan/Richie fandom, and I can think of one writer and about three zines in it, but for the life of me, I cannot remember their names. There was some Connor/Duncan stuff by Saraid, too, early on. The whole thing would have stayed in the 'smaller slash fandoms' part of the chart had not Methos come along. --rache 18:49, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- I went ahead and added a line about the early Duncan slash relationships. --rache 19:04, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- The Duncan/Richie pairing never really took off. The only author I remember writing it regularly was Kevin Robnett. From what I remember of the fandom, it had almost no slash until Methos showed up. Marinarusalka 19:14, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, IIRC, it was almost as if "slash" was a bad word in the fandom -- and sometimes, it was, with all the Methos arguments. Someone kept asking me if I would ever write Tessa/Amanda slash since it didn't exist as far as I (and they) could find it. Kevin Robnett was pretty much it as far as Duncan/Richie; Astrochick wrote copious amounts of Richie/Methos but she was the biggest advocate for it, IIRC. --Raine Wynd 05:31, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Does anyone have a working link for the In The Dark sequels?
Nothing I have found so far has panned out. --rache 18:06, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
they are in the pre-1996 HL archive: http://www.highlander.org/HLFIC-L/ the parts are not interlinked, but all linked from that list.--Ratcreature 18:59, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- Awesome! I created the fanworks entry and pasted all of the links to all of the parts in it, so people don't have to search through the whole list to find them. --rache 19:36, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
