Talk:Canon Resource

I wanted to start a list of material like this but am unsure if this is a good way to title it. I also know the categories could use some work but am unsure how to proceed. I also wonder if this list should be broken into two parts, online and print. Mrs. Potato Head 14:31, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

What do you want this joined list for? I mean, with many individual fandom's zine lists there are non-fiction sections already, and online resources could fit on the fandom pages in a resource section. I mean, I'm not sure what people would be looking for on this page, rather than looking under the fandoms, so that makes it hard to suggest what would be good for sorting.--Ratcreature 18:36, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

What I want it for is for finding non-fiction resources for shows in general. I was thinking of the list you put up for cookbooks. And the one for calendars. Mrs. Potato Head 19:10, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Ah okay, those were obvious to me as they were kind of topical besides the shows. I guess I then would sort this into episode guides, trivia books, show lexicons (like the compendiums that list all the Star Trek tech or all the Harry Potter spells and that kind of thing), and I'm not sure what concordances are for a show (some sort of index? Do like the LOTR appendices or something?), but sort by topic like this once it gets longer.--Ratcreature 19:46, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

What about calling this page something like Canon Resource, Fandom Resource, or Fannish Resource? Resources to Shows limits us to tv fandoms.--æthel 01:28, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

do we want a page for fandom resource?

Fans also create plenty of "resources" for things other than canon--recs pages, fan writer/story/zine indexes, how-to guides, ship manifestos for non-canon ships, and this wiki. Is there a collective name for these things? Fandom Resource, Fanon Resource, ...?--æthel 18:59, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
