In my experience in Supernatural fandom, the prevalent term seems to be Chick of the Week, or CotW. Is that used in other fandoms as well? -- Sashadavidovna October 1, 2008 20:28 CST
- I've never heard that usage in my fandoms (mostly the Jossverse). --Ari 01:40, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I went ahead and added the definition of 'Chick of the Week' to this one, since it's essentially the same thing. --rache 16:49, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Boyfriend of the week?
Does anyone know (and/or can cite) if this phrasing is used to refer to one-shot male love interests (for female characters)? My feeling is that it sometimes is/could be, but my fanspeak tends towards the idiosyncratic. --Ari 01:40, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- We used 'Babe of the Week' for that, as a 'babe' could be either male or female, but go ahead and add boyfriend if you'd like. We are getting a long string of possible translations, but it's all the situation and practice. --rache 16:49, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I was mostly just wondering whether there was an inherent gendered meaning in the term. -- I've never heard the specific phrasing "boyfriend of the week" either. I will go ahead and gender-inclusify the article.--Ari 17:04, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Star Trek pairings
I had an impression that the most popular pairing involving one-shot female characters in Star Trek TOS was Spock/Romulan Commander, not M!Kirk/M!Marlena or McCoy/Natira...--Todosnuestrosayeres 07:24, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
