Talk:Amer-pick

This TWC Symposium post has the writer coining the term yank-wank, and saying she's never seen it used anywhere. Neither have I. I googled and found this article as the only use of the term for this meaning. It seems to be used by people from the UK to mean a film or book or a blog post that is all about the US being the greatest country on Earth. I tried icerocket and got similar results.

Should we just rename this page Amer-pick, which is the term I've seen used, add some cites for it and leave it at that? Or does someone have a cite for this term?--facetofcathy 15:24, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

I think so, yes. Plus, it could be worded a little better -- the phrasing "British and other non-American fen writing stories set in or characters native to America (i.e. some segments of bandom, Supernatural, etc.) might put out a call for American friends to help them with a spot of Yank-wanking, in order to ensure the veracity of their characters' interactions, settings and speech." gets my goat going. --Awils1 12:47, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
