Born Taika David Cohen in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Taika Waititi was the first person of indigenous Māori descent to win an OSCAR ®. He's also Jewish describing himself as a "Polynesian Jew".
Taika is versatile when it comes to work, having written, acted and directed in films, commercials, short films, series and even music videos. The number of fans of his work has grown, and many say that Taika already has a cult following. He's arguably most well known for his work on What We Do in the Shadows, Our Flag Means Death, and two of the Thor films: Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.
