Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a 1979 stage musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler, based on the character who first appeared in a Victorian penny dreadful. In 2007, a film adaptation was released, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp.
