SwearPatrol was a feature utilized on Fanfiction.net a little less than a year after the site launched.
Xing Li announced it on August 26, 1999: "FanFiction.Net presents SwearPatrol. If has come to my attention people tend to swear upon reviewing [fanfics]]. As such, f word will now be replaced by 'fudge', the s word will now be replaced by 'cupcake' and etc. Use those words at your own discretion since you just might embarrass yourself. =)" [1]
