Surface is an NBC American science fiction television series that lasted for fifteen episodes before being cancelled.

Canon

A marine biologist, an insurance salesman and a teen-aged boy find their lives fundamentally changed by the emergence of a new, and often dangerous, species of sea life, while government agents work to keep the affair under wraps.

Fandom

A small fandom surrounds Surface, this is probably due to the cancelation of the series. A mailing list was created on Yahoo! Groups. A few fansites were created to focus on the series, most lost due to being hosted at Freewebs, at least one petition was created to Save Surface. A message board at Proboards was created, although it has not been active since 2006.

Fanfiction was posted mainly to FanFiction.Net and other fanworks such as icons and wallpaper were usually posted to the fansites. Gen works were the most common.
