SuperStar SMTOWN, based off SM Entertainment artists, was the first game to be launched and it's still, nowadays, one of the most played. It's also the game with the most artists, the most songs and most cards.
LAPONE is the first game in the franchise for a Japanese entertainment company. The SuperStar is for western pop artists.

The first game to go defunct was SuperStar BTS, which at the time had only been online for 2 years. After HYBE Corporation's acquisition of PLEDIS Entertainment, SuperStar PLEDIS went under. Few months after the disbandment of GFRIEND, Dalcomsoft pulled the cable on SuperStar GFRIEND. Finally, SuperStar FNC, KANG DANIEL and IZ*ONE were closed due to contract terminations.

The main fannish activity of fans of these games is centered around the card collectibles in the franchise, creating fanmade limited edition theme cards of their favorite artists and posting them online for other players to see. At times, fanmades manage to outshine the official limited themes released by Dalcomsoft.
