Summer's End: A Roxas Zine is a charity zine dedicated to the character Roxas from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

The zine was announced on August 18, 2019[1]. Applications opened for artists and writers on the next day up until September 1st[2]. A total of 190 applications had been submitted[3]. The zine's social media account would later announce that contributors and moderators voted for proceeds of the zine to be donated to The Ocean Clean Up[4].

Preorders opened on December 13, 2019, with the following pricing tiers[5]:

  • Tier 1: Digital Bundle ($15 USD) - Zine PDF
  • Tier 2: Physical Bundle ($30 USD) - Zine PDF, Physical Zine, Cover Art Print
  • Tier 3: Merch Bundle ($45 USD, limited to 50) - Zine PDf, Physical Zine, Cover Art Print, Charms, Stickers, Buttons, A5 Print

As a stretch goal at 50 physical orders, all Tier 2 and Tier 3 zines could get an enamel pin[6]. Physical preorders were also available to preorder at EOY J-Culture Festival 2019 in Singapore from December 28 to December 29[7]. Tier 3 bundles sold out by January 1, but was restocked with 20 more units[8]. Preorders closed on January 13, 2020.

Digital copies of the zine were sent out on January 21, 2020[9]. The zine's store reopened briefly from January 29 to February 2 to get rid of all remaining Tier 2 and Tier 3 bundles in stock[10][11]. Shipping of orders began on April 20, 2020[12].

Digital zines were up for order again on May 13, 2020[13]. The zine opened for leftover sales on May 28, 2020[14]. All leftover stock was sold out on May 29, 2020, but digital zines continued to be available for order[15].

The zine announced a $1619.29 USD donation to The Ocean Clean Up[16].
