StrangerWithMyFace is a fan writer best known in Harry Potter fandom for her participation in early Draco/Ginny communities.
History
SWMF had written fanfiction in various fandoms before she was introduced to Harry Potter. In Harry Potter fandom, she was primarily a Draco/Ginny shipper, after being introduced to the pairing through Cassandra Claire's works.[1]
She began posting stories to FanFiction.net in 2001, most of which were Draco/Ginny. Shortly thereafter, on April 30, 2001, she started the first Draco/Ginny Yahoo! Groups, DracoGinnyFanFic,[2] and invited the other D/G fan writers from FF.net. In May, she started an archive for the group, Magical Theory,[3] and in December, the group started the 12 Days of Ficmas challenge.[4]
In 2002, SWMF created a LiveJournal account with the name "strangerface," which she later changed to "esc_key." On LiveJournal, she created and ran Propheting, a D/G newsletter community that was also home to the Draco/Ginny Ficathon for Hurricane Katrina Relief, from 2005 to 2007.
