Stitches in Time is a digital zine exploring fashion and pride through different time periods with the characters Sora and Riku from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

A SoRiku Fashion Zine! Through the power of love and passion, we aim to produce a zine featuring a plethora of illustrations of the characters in period clothing, as well as an overarching story to follow along in a fun immersive time travel scenario![1]

Interest check for a SoRiku fashion zine opened on April 13, 2021[2]. The zine's social media accounts described the project as a "story about the 2 on a romantic time travel adventure discovering queer expression through history". The zine would be split-profit, meaning a portion of the final sales would be donated to charity, while the rest would go to contributors[3]. At first, the organizers had planned to open mod applications, but by May 5th, they walked back this decision when all the mod roles were able to be filled before opening applications[4].

Contributor applications opened on May 17, 2021[5]. Applications closed on June 25th[6]. Acceptance and rejection emails were sent out by July 9, 2021[7].

Preorders opened on January 21, 2022, on Gumroad as a digital zine packed with emotes and paper doll printouts[8]. The zine was planned to close preorders on February 22, 2022. On February 17th, the organizers also announced that the Gumroad shop would be closed and deleted by February 24th in response to Gumroad's decision to become involved with NFTs, and that there would be no second run of sales[9].

The zine was reported to have raised $200 USD, and 60% of the total was donated to The Trevor Project[10][11].
