Steve Ditko (November 2, 1927 – June 29, 2018) was an American comic book artist and writer. He is probably best known for creating the Marvel characters Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in collaboration with Stan Lee.
Notably, he was a fan of Ayn Rand's works and ideology, and this was reflected in his solo comics (especially Mr. A) as well as his work on Spider-Man.[1][2]
