After a brief foray into Star Wars fandom online in 1999 after the release of The Phantom Menace, Starlady became involved in anime and manga fandom in about 2004, and in media fandom from about 2009. She was principally known as a manga translator, beginning with chapters of Kobato in March 2008 on her LiveJournal. She began volunteering for the OTW translation committee in February 2009, and served on the Internationalization & Outreach committee from its formation until 2012. After a five-year career as an AMV editor, she released her first fanvid in 2011 and is now principally active as a vidder.
She contributes to Fanlore under the name Starlady.
