Stargate Command or the SGC is how characters in the Stargate universe usually refer to both the military organization and its base of operations and headquarters (underneath NORAD, at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado, U.S.A.)
SGC in Fics
While in the show, SGC is part of the somewhat regular military chain of command, reporting to the Head of the Homeworld Security, in fics, SGC is often given much more power in regards of policy making and military decisions.

SGC in Atlantis fics
In Atlantis fics SGC is often portrayed as uncaring of the Atlantis expedition (either because of malice or because they are stuck with their own galactic problems) and prioritizing Earth when faced with a decision affecting both worlds.
New command of SGC (especially after Jack O'Neill leaves) is often turned into villains out to get the Atlantis expedition.
