Star Trek: Terms of Service Zine was a Kirk/Spock/McCoy zine published in 2023.

The Star Trek: Terms of Service Zine is a zine going back to our roots. With a focus on fiction and comics, the zine will focus on the interrelationships of our favorite triumvirate, Spock, Bones, and Jim. When you see terms of service, what does it make you think of? Contracts, obviously. Websites, probably. Literally, terms of service are guidelines that allow an individual to use a service. Even more literally, the Terms of Service zine will be exploring the terms of Starfleet service and what that means for interpersonal relationships (specifically between Bones, Spock, and Jim).“What does that even mean?!” Well, the zine is concerned with conflicts of duty, like we see in The Search for Spock. Specifically, in Search for Spock, Jim is conflicted between his duty to Starfleet and his own duty to Spock (and himself; it would be like losing his soul, after all). This is the sort of conflict Terms of Service is concerned with. The zine will explore themes such as:
- Duty of service
- Conflict between romantic/platonic interest and moral duty
- The effect of deep space danger/missions on relationships
- The impact of relationships on starship life and functioning
These themes are already commonly explored in Star Trek fanfiction, so odds are you’re already doing it right!
As for the rest of the theme, Terms of Service will focus specifically on Spock/McCoy/Kirk, either romantically or platonically.
