It began creating newsletters and organizing conventions when it was in its eleventh year. [1]
Some History
Spotlight was run by a woman called Carol who eight years ago stopped producing the newsletter but continued to run conventions in Nottingham and Leamington which Maggy regularly attended. Spotlight ceased after 22 years, when Carol sadly passed away. [2]
A Description
From a January 1983 ad:
This club has been formed to bring together fans of Leonard Nimoy and and to give information on Leonard's work, past and present. The information will be as up to date as possible. As this is not an easy task, we hope that as many of you as possible will help by being active members and send in any news an Leonard that may come your way. However trivial you may think your contribution is, it will help us to give you a good quality newsletter and club. We hope that you will enjoy your membership with the club and continue to be members for a long time. Each member will receive a membership booklet, giving information on Leonard Nimoy and the club. There is a short biography and an extensive credit list, along with the contents of future newsletters. There will be four newsletters a year : February, May, August and November. The club charity will be the Alan Nimoy Memorial Fund (A.N.M.F.) There is more information on this charity in the membership booklet.
