Spockenobi was term used by fans in the letterzine Interstat.
It was used as a form of derision after hearing that Spock was to be resurrected in the third film. Fans did not want to see Spock return as a ghostly figure, a spiritual eavesdropper, issuing advice a la Ben Kenobi in Star Wars.
Examples of Use
"Should Spock stay dead? I'll vote no. I want Spock back, but as Spock. Not as a "fern", not as a Spockenobi. If the latter were to be the case, I would be one of the first to urge Lucasfilms to sue the pants off Paramount. I want Spock back, yes, but in a stylish form, and as Spock." [1]
"The final mindmeld is done with style and restraint. No "Spockenobis" here." [2]
