"Spies in the House" is a Man from U.N.C.L.E. and original Mission: Impossible TV series crossover vid by Dr. Worm aka dearratboy. It was made available for download and uploaded to the vidder's YouTube page on May 18, 2008.

Dr. Worm said of the characters/pairings featured: "Everyone has many boy/girlfriends. I was aiming for a Dan/Rollin/Cinnamon and Illya/Napoleon thing, but bad guys and girlfights and kissing and Mark Slate all snuck in. There's probably a little objectification of everyone. And this time it's not just Illya getting slapped around. Yay!"[1]

Reactions and Reviews

This snappy video mixes short clips from the two spy shows of the sixties. It's fast-paced and the montage flows together really well. For example, we may go from a shot of a woman removing her stocking for Napoleon and Illya to a shot of Cinnamon Carter's stocking-clad leg.[2]

I normally don't enjoy crossover vids, but this one didn't leave me twiddling my thumbs waiting for the characters I recognized to appear. Instead, the smooth, seamless parallels made between The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the original Mission: Impossible left me intrigued about M.I., a show that had previously left me cold. This vid is a wonderful tribute to the sensuality that imbued 1960s spy shows, and a delightful reminder of the freedom TV characters once had to show genuine affection for each other, regardless of gender.[3]
