Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends is a NBC animated series focused on Spider-Man, Iceman, and Firestar.
Canon
The series ran for three seasons, and was focused on Peter Parker, Bobby Drake, and Angelica Jones. They are all college students at Empire State University and after working together to defeat the Beetle, the trio decide to team-up permanently as the "Spider-Friends". They live together in Peter's Aunt May's home and together they battle various supervillains.
Various members of the Marvel Universe also appeared, such as Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Sunfire, and the X-Men.
Firestar was originally created for the animated series due to the Human Torch being unavailable due to licensing issues, which is why she shares similar heat/fire powers although she is a mutant like Bobby. She also shares similar characteristics with Mary Jane Watson (Peter's love interest in the comics). She was later adapted into the mainstream universe in Uncanny X-Men #193 (May 1985).
