Reactions and Reviews
1989
Nice, tightly-written piece for one that didn't have much going for it plot-wise. I enjoyed the banter back and forth between Kirk and Spock; though, while I agree that Spock would be 'studied' in the area of sex, I find it difficult to imagine him quite so confident. But a nice warm feeling throughout. I think its one flaw is that the author takes a few paragraphs too long to tell the reader who the 'lithesome blonde' is who's furious at Kirk. Once finding out, I had to go back and re-read the first section. [1]
It seemed to me that Kirk has selective amnesia in this story—unintended by the author. He's forgotten that he let Edith Keeler die, and he's forgotten the more recent considerable effort he went through to convince Carolyn Palamas to betray Apollo. I find it difficult to believe that he would forget or minimize these things. [2]
