Reactions and Reviews
"Soliloquy on Snow" was sweet. I love stories written in the first person, especially when that person is Bodie. [1]
This is one of those sweet, loving little pieces that I love to read again and again. I love the romantic, cute, funny little tales that show how much they really love each other — and it's especially comforting to think of B&D as an "old, married couple", growing old together! I like the idea of them taking over the running of CI5 together, too — though I don't know if I can really envision Doyle wanting to stay with that, even into his "older years." BODIE, yeah, I could easily see -- I can't really picture him doing anything else, anyway — but I don't know about Ray. Then again, he'd probably want to do it, anyway — just to be with Bodie! [2]
"Soliloquy on Snow" was a bit soft for me (I hesitate to use the word mushy — maybe sentimental). But the images were well-painted. Very evocative of what Bodie must feel. I'd love to see the scene where Bodie actually talked Ray into wearing the fuchsia snowsuit. Actually, if he could guarantee that no one would actually see him in it, maybe Doyle would be just devilish enough to do it. [3]
