Sky-Byte is a character from the Transformers franchise. He is a poet, mostly writing haiku, and transforms into a shark. He is the leader of the Predacons from Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001).

Canon Background

Sky-Byte originates from the 2001 Robots in Disguise series, but has appeared in Transformers Animated and multiple Generation One comics. In Robots in Disguise, he is the comedically inept leader of the Predacons, second to that universe's Megatron and the rest of the Decepticons. He often writes haiku and other poems.

Fandom

The fandom enjoyed Sky-Byte more than any other aspect of Robots in Disguise, despite the fact that he was a relatively minor character. He received a fan nomination for the Transformers Hall of Fame, possibly as a joke, and he has appeared in more fanworks than most other characters from the series. He is also one of the only widely recognized characters. Due to the lack of fanworks for Robots in Disguise, it's hard to say what the common pairings are, unfortunately. The TFWiki summaries of Robots in Disguise's episodes all begin with haiku as a tribute to him.
