Skinship is a term used to refer to physical intimacy in Korean and Japanese fandoms. It means "Skin+relationship. It seems to denote a situation where the people are close enough to have skin-to-skin contact. And definitely not in a platonic sense." [1]
While the term apparently originated as a means of describing closeness between mother and child, [2] most fans have anything but maternal sentiments in mind when talking about skinship.
