Excerpts

What was your first experience with fanfic?

Several years ago one of my friends sent me to a site of x-files fanfic called Auto Erotic Asphyxiation that (I'm not sure it still exists) was filled with all sorts of different types of fanfic. Till that point I hadn't read any kind of fan fic because I didn't know it existed on-line.

How long have you been a fan of the show?

Mid way through first season I fell for the show and have only regretted it twice; when they switched from friday to sunday (friday was much easier to do) and again when they told us the series was over (the season before last) only to bring it back again. I found that the stories weren't as good as the rest. Now, this season with Agent Dogett has regained my faith.

What made you into a Skinneroticist?

Are you kidding?!?! Have you seen his tush?!?! Goodness, aside from his body, I like the way the character is written and how he can be sensitive and strong all at the same time.

What are your top five all-time favorite stories?

1) Precious Moments - Piper

2) Sale of the Century - Red Valerian

3) M (and W) in Black - Michael Weyer

4) FICA - a beta story of a friend.

5) Bulletproof - I know, it's mine but I really like the story!

How do you feel about fanfic in general?

I like it, CC should find it complimentary - his character's have given people ideas that have to be written.

What advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Never EVER let someone's mean words make you stop. Some people are just mean and jealous that they can't write so they take it out on someone who can. It's hard to let your work get read by someone else but there is always someone out there who will read it and say "Hey, I like it but what about this..." these are the people who you trust because their comments make you a better writer. Every story I have ever written has given me my fair share of people who just write to say "That sucked!" or correct my mistakes because they have nothing better to do, it's the ones who tell me WHY they liked or disliked it that I learn from.
