Silver Age, referencing the silver age of comics, is the term use to describe the time between approximately 1956 and 1970 characterised in the comic book world by artistic advancement and significant commercial success. The term's origin is considered to be from a fan letter published in the letter column of Justice League of America #42.

Superheroes were a core aspect of the silver age of comics and many characters who are household names in 2024 were first introduced during the silver age.
