Shugo Chara! is a magical girl anime and manga series, which originally ran from 2005 to 2010. However, in 2024, a sequel manga series was announced.
Canon
Protaganist Hinamori Amu struggles to make friends due to rumors and wishes she could show her 'true self' to everyone. Waking up one day she finds three 'Heart Eggs' in her bed which contain a 'Guardian Character', enabling her to express herself. Their appearance prompts the Seiyo Elementary Guardians to recruit Amu to find 'X Eggs', corrupted Heart Eggs. [1]
