Showverse, sometimes stylized as Show!verse, is a term that refers to the television adaptation of written materials like books and comics. It is used by fans to distinguish between the television series and the original source material, especially if there are canon differences between the two, or the show has gone beyond canon. The term may also be used to differentiate between two characters with the same name, if the television adaptation has radically changed their characterization.
