(n.) classic term for a fan of Sherlock Holmes. Dates to 1903?[1] Media fans and recent converts are less likely to use this term.

(adj.) related to Sherlock Holmes or its fandom.

According to various unconfirmed reports, "Sherlockian" may be more common in North America, and "Holmesian" more common in Britain.[2] However, following the popularity of the BBC show Sherlock, "Sherlockian" may have taken on a more specific meaning since 2010.[3]
