Reactions and Reviews

From a review in The Collins Mausoleum #3:

Carol Maschke’s Shadowed Beginnings.... was a compelling realization of the re-imagined Julia Hoffman. Maschke expanded the characters (primarily Barnabas and Julia) in a manner that seemed plausible and within the framework of the series. Although considerably heavier on romance than on the supernatural, the author seamlessly integrated pivotal flashbacks (detours to the supernatural element) to the plot and sustained the high emotional pitch characteristic of the series. All in all, it was convincing and well-executed. [1]
