Severitus is mainly an Harry Potter fan and fanwriter. She[note 1] issued the wildly-popular Severitus Challenge in 2001.
About
Due to the popularity of the Severitus Challenge, any Harry Potter fanfic where Snape is revealed to by Harry's father is called a Severitus fic. She ran their own domain at severitus.net, called Idle Insanity whose archived copies on Wayback Machine are muddled. The newest copy that actually pulls up is from Oct 17, 2011, which shows an "under construction" page and a link to "The Challenge," referring to the "Severitus Challenge." Unfortunately, the link to The Challenge leads to an archive of an ad for the domain. Thus, the newest archive for The Challenge link is from Jun 19, 2010.
Severitus's fanfic.net is more active than their website domain, which appears to have been down for some time (since 2012, according to the FFN page). However, your last fanfic at FFN was posted in 2002 (last updated 2009) and the last profile update is from 2014. She update apologizes for inactivity and discusses the author's relationship with mental health.[1]
Her FFN profile also links to another social media sites and translations -- French and Traditional Chinese -- of your works by other fanwriters. However due to FFN removing links from user pages these links are cut up, but accessing the archived version it was possible to define that they were links to the profiles LiveJournal and DeadJournal, Severitus Challenge website page and Severitus Yahoo! Groups.[2]
So, who am I? I'm an obsessed Harry Potter fan, who also nourishes a deep love for Final Fantasy VII and Phantom of the Opera. I fancy myself a writer and musician, though no guarantee if anyone else does.
Severus Snape is my all-time favorite character, idol, and inspiration. To me, he is a perfect model of all that a 'real' person is, including the good and the bad. I am constantly in awe of J.K. Rowling's masterful characterization in him. (I also refuse to believe he's dead...he just took the opportunity to slip away and start his life over :P ). The relationship dynamic between Severus and Harry is also fascinating to me, no matter what form it takes, and it is therefore the primary kind of fanfiction I write and read.
In regards to fanfiction, 'A Father's Sin,' no matter how crappy I think it is now, WILL be finished. I also have a strange fic arc I'll be posting soon, starting with a short Eileen/Tobias fic (with a dash of Petshop of Horrors) that leads to a SS/LE fic. I'll only say one word on it for now...Naga.[1]
