Some Excerpts
Was surfing the net for info on Due South because I saw the show on TV and had no idea what it was about. Stumbled onto the Due South Fiction Archive. The rest is history.
You know, could someone define Jimbabe and Blairbabe? I'm never sure what these terms mean.
There are a few exceptional multi-partner stories that have drawn me in, but for the most part I stay away from multi-partner stories.
Occasionally read in other fandoms, such as Due South, Highlander, Voyager, Professionals, Star Trek TOS, more recently Starsky and Hutch. Don't write in any of them, though.
Somebody said if you hurt Blair you hurt Jim. And actually, the reverse is true, too. So most angst stories are both Jim and Blair angst, unless it's one of those stories where they aren't talking to each other -- or they are being told from exclusively one point of view. Hmmmm, the more I think about it, the more I don't care whose angst it is, as long as it's done well. But I also like everyday type stories, and happy happy joy joy type stories.
Can't speak for anybody else, but I've been raised since an early age to analyze everything. I suppose to a certain extent it's a natural ability, like for instance some people are more athletic than others.
Well, I really enjoy it when my suggestions actually help make the writer I'm working with better, if the writer takes the suggestions and comments I made on one story and apply it to the next story she writes.
Well, I've ended up joking with my authors about ideas for their stories, funny goofs that they made, that kind of stuff. Hardest part is getting a story for beta that doesn't spark my interest -- it's almost impossible to work with a story as a beta unless I'm excited about it in some way.
Well, Rosemary asked for a slash virtual season on SAFicDic, and Helen offered to do it, and I said I'll be the editor.
Not so much changed my view, as given me an opportunity to see fans interacting with each other in a way I haven't seen before. 40 + people working together to create something. Maybe getting a zine together or preparing a con is like this, but I've never been involved in anything like this before, so it's all been very exciting for me.
To everyone working on the SVS: You're the greatest bunch of people I've ever had the pleasure of *not* meeting!
