Excerpts
Natural grasp of the language doesn't hurt. Past experience writing for a grade or money seems to help, as these betas also have a grasp of consequences. :footstomp: YES there are consequences to grammatical errors :mumble:mumble:mumble:
[My other fandoms]: Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter, by Laurell K. Hamilton, where I am the WIP witch. I search out and read Highlander slash, but don't really participate in the fandom. I'd wear a red shirt to a con to keep my buds happy, tho. ;)
Funniest: watching a writer's reaction to something they normally catch, but let slip to me. :D Hardest: the apostrophe abuse. Watching it day after day; it's really depressing.
I'm an addition to the excomm months after its genesis. I came into the season as a beta and got my clock cleaned on a regular basis by the REAL ones. Now I have a loud mouth and no hesitation about intrusively story-doctoring. I think I was asked to join excomm in lieu of being booted.
All I have to do is read stuff. And make smart remarks. There's a hard part?
