In Highlander fandom, the fans quickly took to calling the unnamed U.S. city where Duncan MacLeod lived "Seacouver," because it was clearly meant to evoke the feel of Seattle while looking suspiciously like Vancouver, British Columbia (where the show was filmed).

Eventually, the show creators officially adopted the name for the city.[1]

Unlike other shows filmed in Vancouver where the producers provided the fictional city name first (see Cascade and X-Files), this was one of the few times where the producers followed the fans' lead.

Some Sentinel fanfiction also utilize the "Seacouver Airport."
