Scenario is a Star Wars zine.

This was a secondary publication from the club that complemented "Telesponder".

Jason Grant, president of The Moons of Yavin fan club, designed 'Scenario' to encourage members to contribute things slightly wider in scope than what was presented in 'Telesponder'. Grant envisioned it as a platform for members to produce their own fanzine within the club, and he would continue to do "Telesponder". Out of the two fanzines, it became the main place to feature stories, members opinions and artwork, etc.

Ultimately, both 'Scenario' and 'Telesponder' ended up containing much of the same type of content, although 'Scenario' was the main place for stories.

Issue 1: April 1989

  • Cover: Scenario text, with issue number and date (month and year.) Artwork is of Han Solo and Princess Leia, and titled "Everyone's favourite scoundrel and princess" (artwork by Nigel Williams.)
  • Page 1: "News" - Starts off with a welcome to this new additional fanzine for the club, which is designed to be an occasional publication for stories and artwork from members, but also to fit in additional news items between issues of 'Telesponder'. Lucasfilm personnel tv/film credits follow: Covering two Harrison Ford films, "Frantic" and "Working Girl", Jack Purvis in "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" (directed by Terry Gilliam), Denis Lawson in "The Justice Game" (BBC TV drama), and Jeremy Sinden opening a play at a theatre in South London.
  • Page 2-3: "Story: Jet Black (Chapter 1)" - This follows the exciting adventures of a Bounty Hunter called the Black Panther in the Star Wars universe (by Andrea Swinsco.)
  • Page 4: "Word Search" - Various Star Wars terms are hidden in the word square - how many can you find? Followed by "Final Notes" - covering scores for the February Area Security Chief test: Andrea and Toria both got 64%, and Steven got 78%. Answers to those questions would be sent to those members. Lastly, Jason notes that 'Scenario' is a fanzine that can be produced by any member and that he would help support that in the future.

  • Page 2-5: "Story: Dragon-Busters: The Early Missions" - This follows the exciting adventures of the 'Dragon-Busters' Rebel Alliance unit, stationed on Earth. ILM gets a credit for their work on "Ghostbusters II" (which was a Christmas film release here in the UK.) There are a few sentences about the PIXAR II system (originally developed by a division of Lucasfilm for use in films such as "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan") and the exhibition "Image Processing '89" at Wembley where it was shown. Followed by "Internal Affairs" - covering membership. Jason mentions here that some members have expressed concern as to the length of time it takes for him to reply to letters, and he explains his policy. Also, there is some talk about how the 'Telesponder' and 'Scenario' publications function in terms of content. One member (Lisa Cunningham) gets a birthday mention. The current members list (eleven plus Jason) appears at the bottom of the page with names, stars awarded and test scores. Also mentioned here are the members that have been promoted in rank due to services to the club.
  • Page 2: "Star Wars Tests: Answers" - the answers to the November Voluntary and junior tests are here. At the bottom of the page is a picture of a Rebel Transport (artwork by Matthew Argent.)
  • Page 3: "Opinion Articles: Is Star Wars Science Fiction or Space Fantasy" and a companion piece, "Star Wars is NOT Science Fiction". Jamie Spracklen and Jason Grant look into these themes and voice their opinions.
  • Page 4-5: "Story: Jet Black (Episode III)" - Continuing on with the adventures of The Black Panther on her latest daring mission. The action picks up in the docking bay of Imperial star destroyer... (by Andrea Swinsco.)
  • Page 6: "Assignment" - Three sections to this brain-teaser! A word search of Star Wars related terms with ten related question; an art task to draw three small pictures; and a final task to find the extra word in the word square and make up a question for that 'answer'. Scenario credits appear at the bottom of the page.
  • Page 7: "Overflow Sheet" - Here are seven questions asking members opinions of how the club should change focus in the new year, with a note from Jason at the bottom of the page. Some example changes put forward were to change the titles of the publications, and also the names of the various sections of the club.
