Sammy Keyes is a series of mystery novels starring a middle-school girl, Sammy (short for Samantha) Keyes. It is known for Fair-Play Whodunnits, deftly weaving the three plots (mystery, family, and school), sassy first-person narration, and
also [being] explorations of modern life in all its messy complexity. [...] Even the supporting characters deal with financial stresses, troubled home situations, and, well, life.[1]

- Fans often do something small to celebrate Sammy's birthday (April 6): it may be creating or posting a fanwork, or doing something that reminds them of Sammy
- When the last book was published in 2014, a librarian in Puyallup, Wash., USA, organized the Goodbye Party for Sammy Keyes, an event that was affectionately nicknamed "the Sammy Con." [1][2][3][4]
