SI-5 (Strategic Intelligence, Section 5) is a black ops unit employed by Goddard Futuristics in Wolf 359. In fan spaces, the name also refers to the gen relationship between members. The unit includes Colonel Warren Kepler (Director of Intelligence), Daniel Jacobi (Demolitions Expert), and Dr. Alana Maxwell (AI Specialist).
Canon
Many pre-canon special episodes and flashbacks feature the group's dynamic, and offer context to their bond. A series of backstory focused mini episodes released mid-season 3 highlights how the SI-5 was formed. In Kansas, Kepler receives a promotion directly from Mr. Cutter, who gives him the title of Major, and the position as Director of Intelligence. Later, Kepler scouts and hand-picks Jacobi and Maxwell in Things That Break Other Things and Language Mapping.
