Reactions and Reviews: Issue 2
It's evident from the cover (a gorgeous pen-and-ink drawing of Sonny and Rico by Suzy Sansom) that this second issue is truly a class act. But the best part is that the contents equal -- and in some cases, surpass-- the lovely packaging. There's something for every Vice fan, including sequels to the televised episodes 'Bushido' (the gripping, suspenseful 'Politics of Contraband'), 'Evan,' 'Vicious Circle' -- a story which truly lives up to its title, and 'Sons and Lovers,' and 'Sins of the Father.' A word of warning on this last one -- do not read the last page first! But don't be mislead by my singling out these stories -- every piece of fiction as well as poetry in this zine is a gem. I especially liked the poem, 'Along Came a Dangerous Man,' in which a long-time Harrison Ford fan confesses her newly-developed lust for Don Johnson, as well as a short poem entitled 'The Edge' which connects to my favorite third-season episode, 'Shadow in the Dark.' Expect to see this zine up for a Fan Q next year, it's that good. You get 307 pages of the best detective-police fiction on the fan market. [1]
